1. Edward G. and Helen A. Borgens Elementary Teacher Scholarship

Amount: $1,500

Provider: Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)

The Edward G. and Helen A. Borgens Elementary Teacher Scholarship is a one-time preferred amount of up to $1,500 awarded to one student who is twenty-five (25) years of age or older. Applicants must be studying to teach at the elementary school level. Applicants must have at least a 3.5 GPA, be at least a college sophomore, and attend or plan on attending an accredited college or university. The award is based on academic merit and is not automatically renewable, however, recipients may reapply for consideration as long as they meet the eligibility requirements.

2. National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Scholarship

Amount: Up to $6,000

Provider: College Board

The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Scholarship provides financial assistance for college to high school seniors in each of the five Phi Delta Kappa regions demonstrating financial need. Students seeking a bachelor’s degree in education are welcome to apply.

3. Ezra Jack Keats/Kerlan Memorial Fellowship

Amount: $1,500

Provider: Children’s Literature Research Collections

The Ezra Jack Keats/Kerlan Memorial Fellowship aims to provide financial assistance for writers and illustrators who wish to use the original manuscripts, illustrations, and books of the Kerlan Collection in course of their professional development..

4. Edwyna Wheadon Postgraduate Training Scholarship

Amount: $500

Provider: National Council of Teachers of English

The Edwyna Wheadon Postgraduate Training Scholarship aims to support postgraduate training to enhance teaching skills and/or career development in teaching and provide funding for professional development experiences for English/Language Arts teachers working in public educational institutions.

5. Peter T. Steinwedell Scholarship

Amount: $1,500

Provider: Hartford Foundation for Public Giving

The Peter T. Steinwedell Scholarship aims to provide a scholarship to graduate students in the field of education.

6. Eunice Z. Gaddis Legacy Scholarship

Amount: $500

Provider: Alisha Mills

7. Teacher Pipeline Scholarship

Amount: $5,000

Provider: College Board

The Teacher Pipeline Scholarship is available to full-time students enrolled in a four-year college or university. The scholarship is merit-based and geared towards students interested in pursuing a career in K-12 education. Special consideration is given to first-year students and those who have participated in the Center for Black Educator Development’s Freedom Schools Literacy Academy and/or Liberation Academy. Additionally, students who are majoring in education, teaching, or related fields of study are also given priority.

8. NCTM Prospective 7-12 Secondary Teacher Course Work Scholarships

Amount: $10,000

Provider: National Council of Teachers of Mathematics

The NCTM Prospective 7-12 Secondary Teacher Course Work Scholarship aims to provide financial support to college students preparing to teach secondary school mathematics.

9. Frank D. Di Cenzo and Mary Ciamacco Di Cenzo Memorial Scholarship

Amount: $2,500

Provider: College Board

The Frank D. Di Cenzo and Mary Ciamacco Di Cenzo Memorial Scholarship is for members of Ken Mawr United Presbyterian Church pursuing a degree or studies in teaching, health, law, clergy, law enforcement, or social work. Students who have participated in community activities receive special consideration.

10. Zeph Stewart Latin Teacher Training Scholarship

Amount: $1,500

Provider: Society for Classical Studies

The Zeph Stewart Latin Teacher Training Scholarship provides financial assistance to students and teachers interested in taking courses to complete Latin teacher certification.
